Both are orthodontic treatments. With Invisalign we use clear plastic aligners to move the teeth around. With braces, they come in either metal or clear braces. However for Invisalign to work well you have to wear them quite religiously, if not than braces are the right option for you.

There isn’t an age limit for orthodontic treatment. However some treatments are age dependent and sometimes early treatment is indicated. It’s best that you make an appointment and come talk to us if you would like to know more.

How to use the RME?

How to use the RME?

RME is a Rapid Maxillary Expander. It is for the upper jaw and it expands the roof of the mouth in a transverse dimension. Activating the RME involves using a key, which can swivel on itself but also has a kink at the end.

Depending on your treatment plan you will need to visit the Orthodontist every 6-8 weeks, although this might change depending on your specific circumstances.

It is important to clean your Invisalign aligners twice daily. We also encourage you to rinse them under cold water with a toothbrush.

How many Invisalign aligners do you get?

Each set of aligners will gradually shift your teeth into place, and the amount of aligners you receive will depend on your treatment plan and progress!. Usually per set it can range from 10 to 60 aligners. And on average every patient will get about 2 to 3 sets of aligners.

The average duration of orthodontic treatment can range anywhere from 12 months to 3 years, although on average it tends to last 18-24 months.

There are some potential problems that may be encountered before, during and after treatment. These problems occur in only a very small minority of cases, and in general the benefits of orthodontic treatment far outweigh these risks. However, it is important that you understand and are fully aware of these risks. Regardless of how small they might appear, you should take them into consideration when making your final decision on whether to undergo orthodontic treatment.
