The most common type of braces, metal braces are effective and affordable. They are commonly used on younger people as they are durable, offer excellent control, and are fixed in place, so cannot be removed or lost.
Clear braces – sometimes referred to as ceramic braces – use tooth-coloured brackets and clear elastics to minimise the appearance of the braces.
